MONTEGO BAY, St James - VETERAN reggae artiste Roland Burrell is upbeat about his recently released single, Love Treat, a collaborative effort with up and coming western Jamaican female singer Vibes Queen.

"Me naw lie me, come back fi dem again because we (veteran artistes) set the thing from longer time and because they have not been hearing us for a long time. Some (younger) artistes take over the thing and a mash up the thing, so now me come back and a go all out," an excited Burrell told the Observer West during an interview earlier this week.

Burrell said he is satisfied with the heavy rotation Love Treat has been enjoying on the airwaves in western Jamaica since it was released early last month.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Hanover-based Vibes Queen, formerly known as Pepper Seed, is also elated that the joint venture with Burrell could catapult her musical career which started at the tender age of nine.

"People love it. It is very nice," a smiling Vibes Queen said.

Burrell and Vibes Queen made the link at a studio in Montego Bay where they both record. They say they have blended their voices on other tunes which are to be released soon.

After a two-decade hiatus from the music arena, Burrell returned to Jamaica nearly five years ago from the USA. He has since been creating a stir wherever he performs.

The seasoned performer is known for songs such as Johnny Dollar, Stormy Night, Rip Off and his rendition of Freddy McKay's Picture on the Wall.
