PORT ANTONIO, Portland — An 18-year-old male student of the College of Agriculture, Science, and Education (CASE) was yesterday taken into police custody over an early morning fire which destroyed two rooms on the ground floor of the institution's male dormitory.

The Jamaica Observer has learnt that the student was taken following an investigation into the fire.

It took quick action from students and the security team to put out the blaze, which started approximately 2:00 am. Four students were injured in the blaze, including one who remained in hospital last night with burns to the feet and arms.

The fire did not disrupt classes yesterday. However, the school said it was making arrangements to accommodate the displaced boarders.
