Whether they traversed the Junction Road or travelled through Ocho Rios friends from near and far gathered at JP Farms, Agualta Vale, St Mary, to celebrate the Jamaica Producers Group's 90th anniversary.

Oblivious of the inclement weather, guests dressed in farm-friendly apparel lauded the JP Group, an international food and logistics company with operations in agriculture, manufacturing, shipping and marketing.

Chairman Charles Johnston in his address said, “The story of Jamaica Producers Group is a story of ambition, strong leadership and strategic partnerships.” He thanked all the businesses that fall under the JP Group umbrella as well as the company's valued partners for being leaders in their respective fields.

“Today, we proudly celebrate the audacious journey of a Jamaican company...We welcome you to break bread with us, as we celebrate our roots, our bold journey, the good people and strong partnerships which made our 90-year trek possible,” said Johnston.

The feast began shortly thereafter as guests set their sights (and taste buds) on fare from Chef Jacqui Tyson, whose local menu featured cook-up salt fish, coal-roasted jerk chicken, roasted yam and breadfruit, yard-style curried goat with boiled green bananas and roti. There was also a pasta station and seafood on offer.

Patrons kept the Barcode bartenders busy as they imbibed while jamming to a soundscape provided by radio personality Captain Collin Hines.

JP Group's 90th-anniversary farm party was a welcomed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life; the fresh air and farm-fresh produce were just what the doctor ordered for the holiday season!
