The 2019 Sugar Cane Ball left guests in high spirits and the Hanover Charities executive excited to put the raised funds to good use. The funds will continue the work of the charity in providing scholarships for tertiary students, underwriting a significant amount of the expenses for the West Haven Children's Home, and supporting the infirmary in Lucea.

Philanthropists embraced the theme of Imagine and a “black-tie or neon” dress code, many going gung-ho. In addition to ticket sales, the event raised funds from on-the-spot donations, a silent auction of art, jewellery, fashion and accessories, and a live auction conducted by Berggruen Gallery principal Alex Berggruen. Guests had the opportunity to bid on exclusive experiences and Berggruen's quick-wittedness ensured that top dollar was received for each lot.

Throughout the evening the laughter of guests filled the air and carried across Round Hill Hotel and Villas like a sea breeze; this mirth emanating from people who know their support will ensure that the lives of Hanover residents are improved in all areas.
