Canada-based dancehall artiste Jah Lex is gearing up for the release of his sophomore album Stronger, scheduled for release later this year. It has collaborations with Lutan Fyah, Mikey General, Sugar Roy and Conrad Crystal.

“The album is almost completed but I haven't set a release date for it as yet. I'm going to release a couple more singles and videos before I put it out,” Jah Lex told the Jamaica Observer's Splash.

A video for the first single, the album's title track, has been released.

“I have to give thanks to Izzo from Canada and Andre McKay from Kingston. They both did an excellent job shooting, directing and editing this video,” said Jah Lex.

The 37-year-old deejay is preparing for his annual Reggae Bash Festival in Montreal, which is scheduled for summer. In June, he heads to Africa where is he is booked to perform in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa.

“This will be my second trip to Africa, and I am looking forward to it. Last year I performed at the Reggae on The Nile Festival in Uganda and it was a great experience,” he said.

Jah Lex was born in Montreal where his love for music began at an early age. During his high school years, he studied African and Latin percussion, as well as trumpet and guitar.

He launched his recording career in 2014 with the song Jamaica on the Rising Sun label.
