Singer Tom Laing is upbeat about his appearance at tonight's Portmore Music Fest. It will be his first major performance in Jamaica.

Originally from Trench Town, Laing moved to New York City in the early 1980s, and has recorded consistently over the last 10 years. His songs include Kings Highway, Love Is O k, and a cover of Gregory Isaacs' Front Door.

Laing, who released the Love is O k EP in Jamaica this year, has been doing the promotional rounds since arriving in Kingston one week ago. He is currently promoting She's A Winner, a track released on the Top Tier label.

The video for She's A Winner was released last week.
