NICHOLAS Addlery registered his second double of the season Sunday night for Puerto Rico Islanders to frustrate San Antonio Scorpions, 2-1, at the Heroes Stadium in San Antonio, Texas in North American Soccer League (NASL).

The 30-year-old Addlery moved his goal tally to eight, the fourth leading scorer in the league, after the Scorpions' Pablo Campos, 16 goals, and Mark Anderson of Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Nick Zimmerman of Carolina RailHawks, both on 11 goals.

In front of a crowd of 10,183, Addlery first struck in the 31st minute when he received a throughball from Hector Ramos into space and put a right-footer past keeper Tyler Deric. It was the first goal conceded by the Scorpions in the NASL since April 21.

Addlery, who was a Real Mona player, added his second in the 50th minute when he picked up a throughball and dribbled past Deric into goal.

Pablo Campos reduced the deficit after he capitalised on a poor back pass by the Islanders to head in his 16th goal of the season.

Despite the loss which snapped a nine-match unbeaten streak, the Scorpions stayed atop the standing with 35 points from 19 matches, one ahead of the Islanders who have played 20 matches.

The Jamaican has so far played 16 matches, 12 times in the starting line-up, and logged 1001 minutes. He is, therefore, averaging a goal every 125 minutes. The Islanders will play their next match on Sunday against seventh-placed FC Edmonton at the University of Alberta Foote Field in Edmonton at 3:05 pm.

Meanwhile, Sean Fraser netted his fifth goal for Alianza FC to edge FAS 3-2 at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador in El Salvador Primera Division.

Jonathan Águila scored a brace for FAS in the 31st and 39th minutes while Nelson Bonilla and José Roberto also scored for Alianza.

Fraser, 29, is the leading marksman in El Salvador, after four matches. Nicolás Muñoz of Isidora Metapán and Irvin Valdéz of CD Juventud Independiente trail with four goals apiece, both also from four matches.

Leaders Alianza, nine points, will host fourth-placed Firpo, six points, on Wednesday also at Estadio Cuscatlán.
