LONDON, England — Jamaica's equestrian Samantha Albert will hope for better luck today when she competes on the second day of the Eventing competition of the Olympic Games at Greenwich Park after a disappointing first day on Saturday.
Albert, who slipped to 69th position from a total of 74 entries after the second set of riders went through their first day dressage yesterday, will compete in the cross country event on her horse Carraig Dubh, starting at 12:30 pm UK time (6:30 am Jamaica time).
The cross-country test is held at the beautiful but tough course in Greenwich Park containing up to 45 jumps and once again each team of rider and horse will be given penalty points for jumping errors and time penalties, which will be added to the ones from the dressage for the total score.
Albert was 33rd after the first day with 67.20 penalties after her horse reacted badly in his first major competition.
