Alia Atkinson to face off with rivals at 2:13 PM

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica's Alia Atkinson will compete in the Women’s 100 metre breaststroke at 2:13 pm Jamaica time today.

Atkinson, who qualified with a time of 1:07.48 after beating Canadian Tera Van Beilen in a swim-off yesterday, will be competing out of lane eight.

The Olympic record for this event is 1:05.17, set by Australian Leisel Jones in Beijing in 2008. 

Jones will be swimming in lane two.
