Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel, Appeals Tribunal get new team

FORMER Director of Public Prosecutions Kent Pantry, QC, is to chair the nine-member Jamaica Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel for the next three years, while prominent jurist Justice Howard Cooke will chair the Appeals Tribunal.

The announcement was made by the minister responsible for information, Senator Sandrea Falconer, at yesterday's Jamaica House Press Briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister.

The appointments became effective on September 4.

The other members of the disciplinary panel are attorney-at-law Lennox Gayle, vice-chairman and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor, also vice-chairman, Dr Archie McDonald, Dr Ivor Crandon, Dr Japheth Ford, Juliet Cuthbert, Peter Prendergast and Jacqueline Beckford Walters.

Other members of the Appeals Tribunal are former Court of Appeal Judge Justice Algernon Smith, vice-chairman, Senior Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Lisa Palmer Hamilton, Yvonne King, Dr Charles Roberts and Edith Allen.
