Ardenne, Immaculate, Wolmer's Girls win in ISSA TT

ARDENNE High, Immaculate Conception and Wolmer's Girls emerged victors on Monday in the latest round of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Urban Girls Table Tennis competition.

Visitors Ardenne drubbed newcomers Merl Grove, 3-0, in the girls Under-19, and in the two Under-16 duels, Wolmer's Girls' blanked hosts Merl Grove, 3-0, and visitors Immaculate pipped St Catherine, 3-2.

After these results, Ardenne are on top with eight points, followed by defending champions Campion on five, with Immaculate and Merl Grove on four each.

The top two finishers will contest the final.

Both Under-16 girls matches belong to Group Two and Immaculate now lead the standings with eight points, ahead of Wolmer's on seven points, St Catherine, five, and Merl Grove on four points. The top two finishers from the group will qualify for semi-finals.

In individual results in the Ardenne vs Merl Grove Under-19 girls contest, Ashli Alexander, Kerry-Ann Whyte and Toni-Ann Tapper scored easy 3-0 victories over Santina Morgan, Abigail Smith and Katrina Johnson, respectively.

In the Wolmer's Girls versus Merl Grove Under-16 encounter, Kimberly Gillespie, Matthew-Ann Dawson and Hasari Mustafoa overwhelmed Garcian Williams, Jada Labeach and Kimberly Stewart, respectively, by 3-0 scores.

In the Under-16 girls duel between Immaculate and St Catherine, Vanessa T Moo Young cruised past Alyssa Edwards 3-0, Connie Ho overpowered Richelle Mitchell 3-0 and Chinelle Miller cruised past Edwards 3-0, for Immaculate's three triumphs. Larissa McLaughlin won both consolation matches for St Catherine, beating Miller 3-0 and Moo Young 3-1.
