MID-season champions Barbican started the second round of the Sherwin Williams Women's Premier League (SWWL) with a 2-0 win away against GC Foster College at the weekend.
The Charles Edwards-coached Barbican took the lead in the 34th minute through Nickhima James and sealed the win from the penalty spot courtesy of league leading scorer Jody-Ann McGregor.
They now move to 18 points from six matches and are five points clear of second-placed Waterhouse.
In other Zone A games, Los Perfectos blanked Arnett Gardens, 9-0, at Brooks Park with four goals coming from Shantell Thompson and two from Shanice Bowen. Chanta Adams, Tashika Hamilton and Chevelle Lopez were the other scorers for Los Perfectos.
At Elleston Wakeland Centre, hosts Trelawny Women came from two goals down to hold Waterhouse to a 2-2 draw.
Kerona Williams fired Waterhouse in front after 26 minutes and Nicola Brown made it 2-0 four minutes later. But Kerone Lugg pulled a goal back for the home team 12 minutes into the second half and Odette Brown secured a point with another strike nine minutes (81st) from time.
Los Perfectos now join GC Foster in third spot in the standings on nine points, four behind second-placed Waterhouse.
Trelawny Women are second-from-bottom with four points, while Arnett Gardens are still to get off the mark after six attempts.
Meanwhile, beaten mid-season finalists Portmore Strikers, with 14, remain five points clear atop Zone B despite playing to a 1-1 tie with UWI Women.
Nadola Chase gave Portmore a 16th-minute advantage, but Trudy-Ann Young cancelled her effort on 22 minutes.
In other matches, Harbour View and Santos also played to a 1-1 draw. Kadian Edwards gave the visiting Santos the lead 53 minutes into the contest, but Stacy-Ann Johnson's strike in the 76th earned a point for the home team.
The game between Olympic Gardens and St Thomas Strikers also ended in a draw, with the latter coming from behind to draw 2-2.
Hosts Olympic Gardens took the lead after only five minutes through Jessica Johnson, who added the second in the 23rd minute.
However, the visitors pulled a goal back in the 29th through Marvette Tulloch and secured a point in the 74th courtesy of Sansha Ranger.
Santos are second in the group with nine points, followed by Harbour View and UWI Women with eight each. St Thomas are second-from-bottom with five, one ahead of last-placed Olympic Gardens. The league resumes on Saturday.
