Berger Paints cop BH Domino KO Trophy

BERGER Paints walked away with the 2012 National Association of Domino Bodies Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Business House Knockout Trophy after a close two-point victory over National Baking Company at the National Housing Trust Car Park recently.
After edging Jamaica Gleaner, 72-69, in the semi-finals, Berger Paints proved too good for National Baking Company, 72-70, in the final.
The losers had also scored a close 75-70 win over Carib Cement Company in their semi-final earlier in the evening.
The KO competition, which was opened to all 19 teams, saw NCB beating SDC, 75-71; Kingston Wharves beating Churches, 74-67; Wray & Nephew outclassing Tastee, 75-41; Courts losing 54-75 to NHT; Carib Cement beating UWI, 74-71; Pepsi Cola defeating Tropical Battery, 75-66; Berger beating Seprod, 66-58; Jamaica Fire Brigade defeating Jamaica Observer, 75-55, and National Baking beating Jamaica Brandy, 69-59, in first round action. The Jamaica Gleaner had a bye.
In the second round, National Baking overcame NCB, 75-67; Fire Brigade stopped Kingston Wharves, 63-55; Berger escaped Wray & Nephew, 72-71; Jamaica Gleaner steamrolled NHT, 74-48, and Carib Cement knocked out Pepsi Cola Jamaica, 75-65.
In the play-off to determine the four semi-finalists, Berger Paints engineered another close victory, 75-74, against Fire Brigade.
