BIRMINGHAM, England — Usain Bolt apart, other top Jamaican track and field athletes were also absent from a church service held for the Jamaican and USA track and field teams at the Birmingham Cathedral in London this morning.
Bolt's training partner and main threat to his sprint titles, Yohan Blake, was also notably absent. Defending women's 100m champion Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce and defending 200m champion Veronica Campbell-Brown also snubbed the church service,
Jermaine Gonazales, a contender in the men's 400m dash, was also not present.
