Blake clocks 9.69 to take Diamond League 100m

KINGSTON, Jamaica — World champion Yohan Blake ran a brilliant 9.69 seconds, the third fastest time in history, to take the men’s 100m in Lausanne, Switzerland today.

Blake, who ran second behind Usain Bolt in the Olympic final, defeated American Tyson Gay who took second in 9.83.

Another Jamaican Nesta Carter was third in 9.95

Only Bolt at 9.58 and 9.63 has gone faster than 9.69 seconds.
