GR

Saturday, February 04, 2012

WAULGROVIAN Bullets defeated Unique Ballers, 51-33, as they take a 1-0 lead after Game One in the 2011/2012 MEGABART/Jamaica Jamaica Basketball (JBA) Women's Super League best-of-three finals at the National Stadium Courts on Thursday night.

The second of the three-match finals will be played tomorrow at the same venue, beginning at 5:45 pm.

The third and fourth place play-off between Lady Panthers and Homestead Cougars is set to tip off at 4:00 pm.

Winning coach of Bullets, Marland Nattie, said: "It was a good win for the team and we are hoping to try and win Sunday's encounter and seal the series."

"The players were a bit tentative and a little slow in the first two quarters and also were not really focused... and were not following the game plan to execute," he said.

Meanwhile, losing coach of Ballers Everton Travers, said his team didn't play well enough to win. "The team needs to play Unique Ballers style if they should win and level the series for the third and final encounter," he said.
