Catherine Hall, Violet Kickers into second round

MONTEGO BAY, St James -- Catherine Hall FC and Violet Kickers FC are the latest qualifiers for the second round of the St James Football Association Captain's Bakery and Grill Knockout competition after wins this week.

On Tuesday, Catherine Hall beat Fogo United 2-0, while on Thursday Violet Kickers beat West Green FC 3-0 in a rescheduled game played at the UDC field as they joined six other first-round winners.

Revelations FC, Lilliput Rovers, Granville United, Melbourne FC, Irwin FC, and Little Miami also won their first-round games and will be entered in the draw for the second round next Thursday.

Paradise FC were given a bye through to the first round.

On Thursday, goals from Gavin Wright in the 26th minute, Rayon Binns in the 56th minute, and Andrew Walker in the 69th minute carried Violet Kickers into the second round.

Six more teams, including three that compete in the Western Confederation Super League will be seeking a place in the second round today when action continues with a triple-header at Jarrett Park.

Montego Bay Boys' Club will be seeking their first win of 2014 when they take on Marl Road in the 2:00 pm opener, followed by Wadadah FC against Salt Spring Roses starting at 4:00 pm, while Tomorrow's People and Seaview FC will meet in the 6:00 pm game.
