Corinaldi Ave Primary are INSPORT/Esmie Transport/Burger King Primary mini-basketball champs

MONTEGO BAY, St James — CORINALDI Avenue Primary won the INSPORTS/Esmie Transport and Tours/Burger King Primary schools mini-basketball competition after beating Catherine Hall Primary by one point, 9-8, in the final played at the Montego Bay Cricket Club last Thursday.

Despite a slight drizzle, the finalists combined to produce an exciting final that went down to the wire with Corinaldi Avenue being forced to come from behind to win.

Anchovy Primary'A' had a similar one-point win, 9-8, win over Chetwood 'B' in the third-place play-offs.

Earlier in the semi-finals, Corinaldi Avenue beat Chetwood 7-5, while Catherine Hall were 10-2 winners over Anchovy Primary.

Catherine Hall's Kaheen Kerr was the top boy scorer and boys' MVP, while the female top scorer was Shamara Lawrence of Corinaldi Avenue. Her teammate Adriana Brown was the female MVP.
