Jamaica failed to beat Paraguay a second time to finish in 10th place yesterday at the Seventh Women's Junior Pan Am Championship in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Avenging their 2-0 defeat to the Demi Nicholson-led girls on September 14, Paraguay humbled Jamaica 3-0, thanks to a double strike from Maria Serivan, who scored in the eighth and 41st minutes, and Ivanna Romero, who sealed the issue in the 58th minute.

Mexico defeated Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 yesterday to grab seventh place on the sticks of Jazel Salazar and Maria Correa, who scored in the 27th and 61st minutes, respectively.

At press time, Venezuela and Uruguay were battling for fifth place.

Today, Argentina and Canada will clash for gold at 7:00 tonight, after Chile and defending champions United States battle for bronze at 5:00 pm.

Meanwhile, in the 10th Men's Junior Pan Am Championship, Jamaica will take on Brazil for ninth place this morning at 11:00 after losing 1-3 to Uruguay yesterday. Giovanne Campbell scored for Jamaica in the 55th minute, while Alexis Lopez (19th minute), and Mateo Pereiro (62nd and 64th minutes) were on target for Uruguay, which will oppose Barbados for seventh place this afternoon at 1:00.

Like the women's competition, both Argentina and Canada appear on course to clash in the final, with USA going up against Chile for the bronze tomorrow.
