GC Foster College to be honoured at Central Hurdles and Relays launch
Tuesday, January 15, 2013
The organisers of Central Hurdles & Relays announced yesterday that GC Foster College has been selected to be the honoree for this year.
The presentation will be made at the meet which will be held this Saturday at the GC Foster College beginning at 9:00 am.
Jerry Holness, chairman of the organising committee, said that the college had been selected in recognition of the tremendous work that it had done in preparing the country's coaches, and the contribution that the coaches had made to nation building by virtue of the results of their charges at the national, regional, international, and at the Olympic level.
The principal, Edward Shakes, on hearing that the college had been selected said: "We are indeed pleased to know we have been selected to be honoured in this fashion right here at home where the meet will be held and where our trained coaches will be on show."
Last year's honoree was the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association.
