Gran Corazon last seen while finishing second to Elusive Dream in a similar (NW2) Restricted Allowance call for native-bred four-year-olds upward, will be attempting to go one place better in the Henry George Harrison Snr Memorial Cup feature at Caymanas Park today.

The Henry Harrison Snr will highlight the day's 10-race card and has attracted a field of 13 going 1300 metres for a purse of $480,600.

The feature is the final race on the card and is set to go to post at approximately 5:15 pm with first post at 12:45 pm.

Gran Corazon, trained by Rowan Mathie for owners Dstl & Associates, is a four-year-old bay filly by Keyed Entry out of Souffler (Our Emblem) bred by DaCosta Farms Ltd. At a stage of noticeable improvement, she showed much grit in her running on July 26 and led her rivals to the final 200 metres going 1500 metres. Two weeks later Gran Corazon returned to action in good heart, and with the distance reduced along with the Blinkers refitted to add early pep in her step, the Keyed Entry filly could leave (NW2) behind should everything go well. Nonetheless, despite returning just as light for her claiming apprentice rider Orayne Sewell, who rode the filly on her last two outings, Gran Corazon looks to have no easy passage as she can expect strong rivalry from Justice Rhoodal, the mount of fellow claiming apprentice Kuri Powell for trainer Wilfred Chin; Play Station with claiming apprentice Darian Robinson for trainer Boris McIntosh;Winit with Romario Saunders for trainer Ryan Darby and Raj Kapoor with Devon A Thomas up for trainer Morris Powell. And these, along with the disappointing Best Flyer, bred, owned and trained by Lorenzo Robinson, should provide an eventful finish to the closing call.
