Green describes final qualification as "awesome"

LONDON, England - Coming into the men's 400m hurdles semi-finals at the Olympic Games today at Olympic Stadium in Stratford, London, Jamaica’s Leford Green said he told himself "This is it, this it."

Green who has been running the event just two season s now produced a season's best performance 48.61 seconds for second and an automatic qualify spot into Monday's final.

The three-time Jamaican champion described making his first global finals as "awesome," and said "I think I have worked hard enough this year (and even though) I had some setbacks and some struggles this is my seventh hurdle race for the year so that means my legs are fresh."

Green said the plan was to get back to his coach Lennox Graham and "build on this for the finals and see if we can get it smoother for the finals."
