Holmwood begin defence of Rural Area Netball League

DEFENDING champions Holmwood Technical will begin their defence of their Senior League title when they face Bellefield High as the 2012 Rural Area ISSA/Digicel High School netball competition continues today at Bellefield school court, starting at 3:30 pm.
Manchester High, winners of the Open Rally competition, won both their opening matches in the Junior and Senior Leagues, respectively. They defeated New Day High, 19-6, in the Junior and 42-22 in the Senior.
In other games scheduled to be played this afternoon in both Junior and Senior Leagues: Mount Alvernia High take on Hopewell High; Knockalva High entertain Irwin High; Muschett High oppose Herbert Morrison High; Lewisville High play Hampton High; Bustamante High face Glenmuir High; Clarendon High tackle Kellits High; Ferncourt High oppose York Castle High, and St Hilda's High face Cedric Titus High.
Home teams are named first with the Junior League to begin at 2:30 and the Senior League at 3:30.
In last week's round-up of matches: Junior League - St James defeated Muschett High 31-9; Manning's High got past Belmont High 11-8; St Mary High defeated Marymount High 27-6; St Thomas Technical beat Happy Grove High 17-14 and Herbert Morrison trounced Green Pond High 36-4.
In the Senior League, Mount Alvernia High trounced Knockalva High 43-17; St James High outscored Muschett High 20-16; Manning's High cruised past Belmont High 31-12; Marymount High whipped Brimmervale 31-5; Marymount High got the better of St Mary High 26-24 and St Thomas Technical outscored Happy Grove 27-19.
