SCARBOROUGH, Tobago (CMC) — Jamaican cricketers continued to lead the way after registering a 108-run victory over Guyana in the top-of-the-table clash in the Regional Under-17 Championship here yesterday.
At Shaw Park: Jamaica won by 108 runs after scoring 162 for nine off 50 overs, with Odain McCarthy 39, Ramaal Lewis 28, Fabian Allen 28, against Gudakesh Kanhai 2-16 and Steven Sankar 2-21.
In return, Guyana could only muster 54 all out off 28.4 overs with Tagenarine Chanderpaul 16, Dexter George 12, against Fabien Allen 4-8, Ramaal Lewis 2-18.
At Bon Accord: Trinidad & Tobago won by 168 runs.
TRINIDAD & TOBAGO 326 all out off 50 overs (Brian Christmas 92, Jeremy Solozano 62, Nicholas Pooran 74; Jerome Jones 3-58, Tariq Shorey 2-49).
BARBADOS 158 all out off 34.1 overs (Lee-Germon Gaskin 86, Jafari Toppin 19; Jesse Bootan 3-24, Jovan Ali 3-37).
At Plymouth: Windward Islands won by four wickets.
LEEWARD ISLANDS 147 all out off 38.2 overs (Shane Venner 37, Saeed Williams 19; Craig Phillip 4-37, Taryck Gabriel 3-18).
WINDWARD ISLANDS 149 for six off 28.4 overs (Keone George 81 not out, Roland Cato 27; Mark Gokarran 2-22).
Jamaica lead the six-team points standing with 21 points ahead of the Windwards with 17.5, Trinidad and Tobago on 16, Guyana on 14.5, Barbados on eight and the Leeward Islands on 1.5 points.
The competition continues today with T&T vs Guyana at Shaw Park; Barbados against Leeward Islands at Plymouth and Jamaica against Windward Islands at Bon Accord.
