Liguanea United 'A' defeated Molynes United 'B' 7-6 in the final to capture the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Jo Wigman Handicap Rally title at the Leila Robinson Courts last Saturday.

It was also the first time Liguanea were winning a major title. They also went through the rally unbeaten.

In the semi-finals, Liguanea 'A' defeated Global United 'A' 8-3, after coming in with a handicap of four goals, while Molynes 'B' clipped Ocho Rios Magics 3-2.

The quarter-finals saw Liguanea 'A' edging GC Foster 'A' 6-5, also with a goal advantage; Molynes 'B' got by Molynes United 'C' 4-3; Ocho Rios Magics beat Hampshire 5-2; and Global United 'A' defeated Jetsetters 'A' 9-6.

Meanwhile, in the preliminary rounds of the rally, where the winners of each group advanced to the second round, Whitfield topped Group One with nine points from three wins, Hampshire edged GC Foster Strikers on goal difference, after both teams ended with seven points each.

Ocho Rios Magics and SPEG 'A' went into a play-off, as both teams finished with seven points each and had a similar goal difference in Group Three. Magics beat SPEG 'A' in

the play-off.

Alpha easily won Group Four with nine points from three wins; Molynes 'B' were the winners of Group Five with maximum nine points from three wins; Mico 'B' topped Group Seven with nine points from three wins.

Upper Camp won Group Nine with nine points from three wins; GC Foster Strikers 'A' won Group 10 with nine points, Police topped Group 11 points; Liguanea 'A' won Group 12 with seven points.

Group 13 won by Job's United 'A' with seven points; Jetsetters 'B' came out on top in Group 14 with nine points; Job's Lane United 'B', by virtue of goal difference, came out winners of Group 15 over UTech Knights, as both finished with on six points each; Global United topped Group 16  with maximum nine points from three wins.
