Miller, Russell named team captains

BARCELONA, Spain - Shot putter Ashinia Miller and intermediate hurdler Janieve Russell have been named team captains for the Jamaican team that will compete at the 14th IAAF World Junior Championships starting today in Barcelona, Spain.

The captains were chosen at a team meeting here over the weekend after the team arrived in the Catalan capital Friday morning.

Both athletes are competing in their second World Championships after taking part two years ago in Moncton, Canada.

Miller is the National Junior Record holder in the shot put while Russell is expected to run the 400m hurdles as well as the 4x400m relays.
