TUCKER, St James — Montego Bay United's resurgence in the Red Stripe Premier League continued yesterday with a pulsating 3-2 come-from-behind win over Cavalier at the WespoW Park here, yesterday.

The win, effectively, propelled the team from western Jamaica to the top of the points table.

With previous leaders Harbour View and Waterhouse both drawing 0-0, the win, the second in four days for MBU at home, saw them jumping two places to the top with 39 points, one more than those cloest to them.

After trailing 0-2 at half-time, MBU struck three times in a five-minute blitz that knocked the fight out of Cavalier, who have yet to get the better of Montego Bay in two seasons.

A shift in tactics in the second half, which saw Lesley St Fluer getting more involved, led to the first two goals as the team cameback with Omar Gordon in the 56th minute, Dino Williams in the 58th and Fabian McCarthy with yet another free kick special in the 63rd.

Cavalier got both first-half goals from Girvon Brown in the 12th and 31st minutes.

It was the second emphatic win in days for the MBU team, having scored three times in the first-half on Thursday to beat Harbour View at the same venue.

Hugh Solomon, who had taken over the team after Donovan Duckie walked away in January, said he was happy for the win even though the MBU team did not play as well as they had done on Thursday, but said "our concentration has improved".

David Laylor, who spoke on behalf of Cavalier, told the Jamaica Observer his team "lapsed defensively".
