Police new leaders in KSAFA/Major League
Sunday, February 12, 2012
POLICE National took advantage of Allman/Woodford's draw in the KSAFA Major League by beating Swallowfield, 3-0, to move back atop the table by a point.
At Heroes Circle, Allman/Woodford had to come from behind to hold Shortwood to a 2-2 draw. Meanwhile, Real Mona scored the only other win, beating Meadforest, 2-0, to climb to third on 20 points.
In other results, New Kingston and Molynes played to a 1-1 draw, as did Maxfield Park and Browns Town, while Bull Bay and Cooreville battled to a 2-2 tie.
Police reclaimed top spot with 28 points after two goals from Craig Gayle (4th and 74th) and one from Alvin Morgan (ninth) carried them to a comfortable 3-0 win over hosts Swallowfield.
At Heroes Circle, Allman/Woodford lost their place at the top of the standings after dropping two points to visiting Shortwood. Kevin Thomas fired the home team ahead after just 14 minutes.
However, Kemarley Small equalised for the visitors eight minutes after the interval and Dexter Allen capitalised on a goalkeeping error on the hour mark to put Shortwood ahead.
But three minutes from the end, Allman/Woodford's Andre Eccles was fouled inside the box and Nicholas Isaacs fired home from the penalty spot to earn the hosts a point.
Real Mona beat Meadforest 2-0 through goals from Jordon Moses and Khalil Johnson to jump to third with 20 points, eight off the leaders.
Also at Heroes Circle, Deano McKenzie gave Molynes the lead on the stroke of half-time, but Lamardo Evans secured a point for New Kingston with a goal 10 minutes after.
At Bull Pen, George Spence and Kemel Mullings put the home team 2-0 up at the break, but goals Shevan Wright (61st) and Chevon Montgomery (63rd) two minutes apart earned Cooreville a draw.
