Port Morant blank Hillside 2-0 in St Thomas Major League

Port Morant United blanked Hillside FC, 2-0, at Land Top last Monday as action continued in the 2013 Captains Bakery St Thomas Major League which kicked off recently.

Peter Johnson and Locksley Thompson did the honours for Port Morant United in the 79th and 90-plus minutes, respectively.

On Sunday, Kool Kat did likewise against last season's beaten finalists Seaforth at York Sports Complex, with goals from Gostel James in the 22nd and Okello Webb in the 85th.

Meanwhile, Prospect and Lyssons rallied to a 2-2 scoreline at the Cotton Tree Oval last Saturday. Bunny McDonald in the 26th and Chevron Hamilton in the 79th scored for Prospect, while netting for Lyssons were Kareem King in the 30th, while Wayne Henry of Prospect scored an own-goal in the 39th.

Twelve teams are participating in the competition. They are Kool Kat FC, Yallahs FC, York FC, Lyssons FC, Seaforth FC, Prospect FC, Heartease FC, Danvers Pen FC, Bath FC, Port Morant FC, Hill Side FC and Delta Force.

York FC are the defending champions after defeating Seaforth, 2-1, in the final last season.
