Thursday, February 07, 2013
SAMUEL PROSPECT, Trelawny — Prospect Links inched back to the top of Zone Two of the Trelawny Football Association Monymusk Overproof White Rum Major League on Sunday after drawing 1-1 with Duanvale in their second round game at Samuel Prospect.
Prospect Links had won the first round game 1-0 and led after 32 minutes, thanks to a goal from Oshane Smith.
Ernesto Barrett's 75th minute equaliser, however, denied the home team all three points, but they edged ahead of Exidos So Fresh on goal difference as both teams are on 14 points each.
Granville FC won their second game of the season to move off the base of Zone One, coming form behind to outscore Coopers Pen 3-2, the same team they had beaten 1-0 in the first round.
Dale Williams gave Coopers Pen the lead after just five minutes, but Granville jumped into the lead 3-1 exploding for three goals in the 15th minute from Patrick Pinnock, Venton Haywood in the 18th minute and Kanardo Wilson a minute later.
Shane Palmer pulled Coopers Pen a goal closer when he scored in the 45th minute, but that was the end of the scoring in the game.
In the third game on Sunday, Spicy Hill and Oral Cunningham drew 1-1.
