SCA nab points in dull Monday Night affair

ONLY a few football fields in Jamaica are up to scratch, and Clarendon-based Sporting Central Academy has one at Brancourt. Therefore, the moment coach Nigel Stewart saw a lush Stadium East facility, he knew Cavalier would be hard-pressed to contain his slick-passing outfit.
"When we came here and saw the field I know we are going to have a good game and we came here for three points and we got three points," said Stewart.
"This is the sort of field we have at home and we felt at home," he added.
Former National Under-20 player Levaughn 'Country' Williams netted the winner in the 32nd minute, enabling Sporting to jump two spots from fifth to third on 10 points.
"It was a workman-like performance and I liked it. I think... we wanted it more. Our aim is to go to the End-of-Round Final and we need all the points we can get. I think we wanted it more tonight," Stewart pointed out.
The camera-shy Cavalier turned in a disappointing performance in their first live Red Stripe Premier League Monday Night match, slumping to their third defeat in five matches to remain seventh on six points.
Head coach David Lalor said his team could not lift themselves from the high after beating Waterhouse last week.
The promoted Cavalier, with victories over Portmore United and Waterhouse, were suffering their third defeat, having also lost to Boys' Town and Savannah FC.
