SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) revved up their already high powered scoring machine after blasting Balaclava High 11-0 in the ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup Zone E game played at Santa Cruz yesterday for their third straight win.
This was STETHS' fifth consecutive win over their St Elizabeth neighbours, scoring and unanswered 42 goals in the process.
Five other schools also scored their third win in a row yesterday, including former champions St James High, Frome Technical, Munro College, and Clarendon College, as well as Grange
One game will be played today, Robert Lightbourne against Morant Bay, as it was rescheduled from yesterday.
In Santa Cruz yesterday, Romario Allen, who missed the first two wins, made up for lost time as he led the romp with five goals, scoring in the 32nd, 37th, 49th, 75th, and 90th minutes.
Khesario Hall scored his third three-timer of the season, netting the game's first goal in the sixth minute, then adding two more in the 28th and 29th minutes, with Carl Campbell, Keano Williams and Akito Graham in time added on completing the scoring.
Munro College kept pace with STETHS in the points' table in Zone E with a 5-0 win over Maggotty High, avenging a loss last season with Johann Weatherly and Fabian Murray getting two goals each.
In rainy conditions at Jarrett Park, St James High stayed on top of Zone A with a 6-0 romp over Maldon High, with Romario Clarke scoring twice in the second half.
Frome Technical edged Cambridge High 4-3 in a goal fest at the Frome Sports Complex in their Zone B game, while Ackeel Shackleford scored twice for Grange Hill in their 3-1 win over Godfrey Stewart in the Zone D top-of-the-table clash.
In Zone H, Clarendon College were easy 3-0 winners over Edwin Allen, while Lennon High scored their first victory of the season, edging Claude McKay 1-0.
Happy Grove High, meanwhile, had their two-game winning start snapped, as they were edged 1-0 by Port Antonio High.
After being held by Green Island on Saturday, former champions Rusea's High scored their first win of the season, blanking Irwin High 3-0 in Lucea, thanks to a hat-trick from Tavan Barnes.
Cornwall College bounced back from their loss to St James High on Saturday by beating Green Pond High 2-1.
Herbert Morrison scored their first win, beating Williams Knibb 2-1 in Martha Brae, while Muschett edged Holland High 1-0.
Manchester High took over sole leadership in Zone F with a 1-0 win over Bellefield, while BB Coke moved past Bellefield into second place with a 1-0 win over Mile Gully High.
Marcus Garvey edged Brown's Town 3-2 to lead Zone I on goal difference over Cedric Titus, who were 2-0 winners over newcomers Steer Town. York Castle High beat Ocho Rios 2-0 for their second win.
