Sandals Grande clip Golden Eye 1-0
Saturday, August 11, 2012
Sandals Grande Riviera bounced back from their recent loss to inflict a crucial 1-0 defeat on high-riding Golden Eye Villas in the Sandals sponsored St Ann/St Mary Business House Football Competition at Drax Hall on Wednesday.
In other matches, defending champions National Water Commission chalked up their second win in as many starts by crushing Marksman 5-1; Noranda Bauxite drubbed the former Club Caribbean 4-0, while Beaches Ocho Rios edged Sandals Royal Plantation 1-0.
In the feature match, Sandals Grande dominated the first half but had a spate of missed chances, showing poor composure in front of goal. However, they finally broke the deadlock in the 35th minute via the penalty route, with top player Bevin Grant coolly slotting home.
Competition continues today with Royal DeCameron Club Caribbean meeting Royal DeCameron Fun Caribbean at 4:00 pm at Drax Hall.
In tomorrow's action, Police will take aim at Marksman at Drax Hall at 2:30 pm, while in the feature match at 4:00 Couples Sans Souci battle Sandals Royal Plantation.
Teams are divided into three zones with the top two from each zone moving on to the next round.
