Scotia girls whip Gen Accident in BH netball

SCOTIABANK 'A' cruised past arch-rivals General Accident Insurance, 57-31, in the Business House Netball Association Senior 'A' League at the Leila Robinson Courts on Saturday.

The win was the bankers' fourth from four outings to remain the only unbeaten team in the league, while the defeat was the insurance aggregation's first from four starts.

Both teams started their strongest take-the-court seven with only Jamaica's centre court player Nadine Bryan of General Accident sitting out the game.

After taking a 4-1 lead, it was the bankers all the way. Apart from controlling mid-court, they outscored and out-defended their opponents. At the quarter break, Scotia had raced into a 17-6 lead.

In another Senior 'A' League game, WISYNCO defeated defending champions Grace, 41-34.

Results of matches played in the Senior 'B' League: NHT outscored JPS, 48-44; Transport Authority defeated RBC, 47-20; Sagicor and SERHA drew 44-44.

Intermediate 'A' Results: Wray and Nephew beat BoJ, 30-23; JNBS clipped ATL, 25-24; HEART got past ICD, 24-20; VMBS beat LIME, 21-16.

Intermediate 'B' Results: Pan Caribbean defeated Petrojam, 33-13; FLOW beat NHT 'B', 28-20; JMMB outscored WISYNCO 'B', 26-15; NMIA got past CARI-MED, 26-24.

Junior Results: Stewart's got past Aeronautical, 33-29; Sagicor 'B' defeated Altamont Court, 31-14.

The leagues continue this afternoon with Jamaica Broilers vs General Accident; Sagicor Life 'B' vs Aeronautical; Scotia 'B' vs Jamaica Infrastructure; Transport Authority vs WISYNCO 'A' at 5:45.

Sagicor 'A' vs JPS; HEART vs ATL; Scotiabank 'A' vs WISYNCO 'A'; JNBS vs Advantage General, starting at 7:00.
