Shelly Ann, VCB rested for 4X100 heats

LONDON, England - Repeat Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and bronze medalist Veronica Campbell-Brown will be rested for tonight’s first round of the women's 4x100m relay to be run on the afternoon session of today's seventh day of track and field competition at the XXX Olympiad inside the Olympic Stadium.

Donald Quarrie, Technical Leader of the track team told the Jamaica Observer today that Samantha Henry, 200m semi-finalist Sherone Simpson, Schillonie Calvert and 100m semi-finalist Kerron Stewart would represent Jamaica in the preliminaries.

Jamaica is in the second of two semi-finals heats and will run in lane 5 against Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Colombia, Russia, France and Germany.

The top three from each heat plus the nest two fastest will advance to tomorrow's final.

Jamaica failed to make the finals in Beijing after dropping the baton in the preliminaries.
