Shot put gold for O'Dayne Richards at Pan-Am Games

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A new shot put record was set at the Pan-American Games today in Canada.
Jamaican O’Dayne Richards threw not only a Pan-American Games record, but also a national record at 21.69m, landing him the third best spot in the world so far this year to win the men’s shot put gold medal in Toronto.
Timothy Nedow of Canada, was second with a season’s best of 20.53m and Lauro German of Argentina followed in third with a distance of 20.24m.
