PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) — West Indies Under-19 batting star Jeremy Solozano blasted an entertaining double hundred in the Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 Inter Zone competition at Honeymoon Park here Friday.

The 18-year-old left-hander, who featured at the Youth World Cup in Dubai earlier this year, scored 236 for East before they were dismissed for 400 in response to North's first innings of 198.

Resuming the second and final day on 64 not out, Solozano stroked 27 fours and two sixes overall, in an innings that spanned more than five hours and required 293 balls.

The match predictably ended in a stalemate, but North finished on top Group B to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.

Solozano has played one first class match for Trinidad and Tobago, the first semi-final of the Regional Four-Day Championship last May.
