Spanish Grain, Scotia 'B' for 5-A-Side final

Saturday, October 20, 2012

Spanish Grain Store and Scotiabank 'B' will meet in the Division One final of the 2012 Business House Five-A-Side Football League today at the NWC playfield in Mona.

Kick off is 4:15 pm.

Spanish Grain Store defeated Scotiabank 'A' 1-0 in their semi-final, while Scotiabank 'B' stopped UDC 3-0 in their match-up.

In the curtain-raiser, Food for the Poor and first-time entrant Cari-Med Limited will face off for the Division Two title at 3:000 pm.

In their semi-final match, Food For The Poor defeated MegaMart in penalty shoot out after playing to a 1-1 full and extra time draw. Cari-Med advanced after Paul Henry's goal enabled them to clip Gas Pro 1-0 in their semi final match-up.

No stranger to each other, Spanish Grain Store defeated Scotia 'B', 2-0, in last year's Division Two final and they were both promoted to Division One this year. The Hugh 'Bingy Blair-coached Spanish Grain Store, although losing to their opponents 1-0 in the preliminary round in July, are bubbling with confidence as they have eight Premier League players within their ranks.

Spanish Grain Store will be looking to Roberto Fletcher, Juvaunni Benjamin, Andrew Whyte, Kemar Flemmings, Richard Martin and goalkeeper Kavon Salmon to lead his team to victory.

Scotiabank 'B', meantime, will bank on Tavar McQueen, Marlon Henry, Fabian Depass, Jermaine Gardener and Anthony Greenland to get the better of their rival.

A presentation ceremony will follow the second game.
