Stalemate! Lion halt leaders Harbour View with 0-0 draw
Montego Bay win five-goal thriller

MAY PEN, Clarendon — Harbour View missed a chance to extend their lead at the top of the Red Stripe Premier League following a 0-0 draw with Humble Lion at Effortville yesterday.
The hosts, playing without a recognised coach for a second week running, were marginally the better side in a dull encounter.
Winger Jermaine Christian and left full-back Fabian Pascoe were expertly denied by visiting 'keeper Devon Haughton either side of the half-time break.
Harbour View were good on the ball, but except for a Jermie Lynch effort, failed to create any real goalscoring opportunities.
The Stars of the East improved their points total to 31, and while coach Vin Blaine thought his side could have done better, he was pleased for the point away from home.
Humble Lion also improved their tally to 16, which moved them four points clear of the relegation zone.
In another game, Montego Bay United edged Highgate 3-2 in a close Red Stripe Premier League game at Drax Hall yesterday.
Montego Bay's goals were scored by Brian Brown (9th), Winston Wilkinson (34th), and Lesly St Fleur (42nd), while a brace from Carlos Barrett (38th and 64th) marked Highgate's response.
Montego Bay started out attacking through Allan Ottey, Dino Williams, Brown and St Fleur as Highgate countered through Roberta Fletcher, Donovan Davis, Severo Murphy and Carlos Barrett.
Montego Bay took the lead in the ninth minute when Brown picked up a ball from strike partner Ottey and fired past Highgate custodian Romaine Hamilton.
Twenty-nine minutes later they went further ahead when Winston Wilkinson fired home.
Highgate, unfazed by the goals, went in search of goals and their attacks paid dividends as they pulled one back from a goalmouth melee when custodian Davian Watkins failed to handle Barrett's shot.
However, Montego Bay made it 3-1 when the Bahamian St Fleur fired home in the 42nd minute from inside the penalty area just before the break.
In a never-say-die attitude, Highgate put in a dominant second half display, but were only able to pull back one goal when Barrett completed his double when he beat custodian Davian Watkins.
Winning coach Dr Dean Weatherly was happy at game's end. "It is good to win on the road. Highgate is a quality team and this is a very indifferent game for us. We normally dominate the second half, but we worked hard in the week in getting a quick start and it worked for us," he said.
Highgate coach Michael Smith said "this Highgate team is a quality team but we played too flat in defence and conceeded two early goals".
Highgate remain in the relagation zone on 12 points, while Montego Bay climbed to 23 in midpack.
