T&T clocks national record, Bahamas/US fastest in 4x400 heats

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Trinidad and Tobago clocked a national record 3:00.4 in qualifying for the men’s 4x400 relay final this morning.

Interestingly, the two top teams in both heats were credited with the same time.   

In heat 1 Great Britain clocked the same time as T&T with Cuba third in 3:00.5.

In heat 2 both the Bahamas and the US clocked 2:58.9. Russia finished third in this heat.

The 4x400 finals will have three teams from the Caribbean - T&T, Bahamas and Cuba. Jamaica is out after Jermaine Gonzales pulled up in heat 2.
