LONDON, England — Yohan Blake says standing on the top of the medal podium on August 6th — Jamaica's 50th anniversary of Independence from England — would mean a lot to him and he would dedicate it to the people he works with through his YB Afraid Foundation.
The finals of the men’s 100m will be run on Sunday August 5th and the medal ceremony would be held the next day.
“Jamaica has gained independence 50 years and having produced so many great athletes over the years and to be that person on top of the podium that would mean a lot to me,” said Blake. “I could be moved to tears because of all the hard work I had put in.
"I think of all the people I work with, the poor people and the mothers and it would mean a lot to me."
