The shoes that gave us gold

Thursday, August 16, 2012 | 4:07 PM

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, took to Twitter today to show the shoes he wore when he made history in London this month.

"Ppl u av been asking... Here are [the] Puma spikes that gave us gold," he Tweeted.

Bolt posted the spikes using the iPhone app Instagram.

The comments were understandably endless, with women going as far as to propose to the superstar.

One of Bolt's followers joked with the athlete, "I'll race ya, I may have to cheat a tad and use my bike lol."

Bolt, who has taken to referring to himself as a legend, managed to defend his title in both the 100m and 200m events at the 30th Olympiad in London.

He also anchored the Jamaican men's 4X100m relay team to a record breaking performance in 36.8 seconds.

Team Jamaica won a total of 12 medals at the 2012 Olympics — four gold, four silver and four bronze.
