Top players tee off new golfing calendar

The golfing community is gearing up for the first event of the 2013-2014 tournament season.

The Catch the 'Manas Flight event tees off today at the Caymanas Golf & Country Club with top golfers in the line-up.

Members of the newly convened elite squad — made up of national representatives and special invitees -- will be competing and are expected to showcase their skills in this two-day event.

Among those already entered are Jodi Barrow, Wayne Chai Chong, Robert Chin, Rory Jardine, Sean Morris, Dennis Atkinson and Fred Sutherland.

The national junior team to the Caribbean Championships was recently announced and team members in the draw are Justin Burrowes, Romaine Evans, Tiana Cruz, Kei Harris, and Sherisse Walker.

First place category prizes will be sponsored by Globe Insurance Company Limited.

The first tee time is at 8:00 am.
