Top seeds win again in JNBS/JNA Open League

SEEDED teams remained unbeaten in Group 'B' of the JNBS/JNA Open League from victories at the Leila Robinson Courts last Saturday and Sunday.

Alpha, coached by Dwight Sutherland, have scored two wins from as many starts to lead Group One in the standings with six points. SPEG 'A', coached by Arlene Findlay, have six points from two starts to assume the early lead in Group Two.

Jetsetters 'A', coached by C Lloyd Walker, have nine points from three outings to lead Group Three ahead of the Conrad Parkes-coached UWI Pelicans 'B' with six from two games and UTech Knights, six from two.

Police 'A', coached by Joan Benjamin, and Tivoli 'B', coached by Sylvester "Chris" Campbell, are joint leaders of Group Four with six points each from two matches.

Group Five has Ebony Strikers 'A' leading with nine points from three games, with Ocho Rios Magics second with seven, but have played a game less.

Group Six is a also competitive between Raven, Friendship and Mico 'B'. Raven and Friendship lead with six points from two matches, with Mico 'B' on three from one game.

Job's Lane United 'A' lead Group Seven with nine points from three matches, with Molynes United 'A', coached by Roy Pryce, on six from two, followed by Boulevard Baptist, also with six from two.

Blades United 'A' lead Group Eight with nine points from three games, followed by Waulgrovians 'B', coached by Marvette Anderson, with six from three.

SATURDAY'S RESULTS: Tivoli 'B' defeated Genesis, 31-6; Police 'A' whipped Maverly, 27-2; Ebony Strikers 'B' outscored Edna Manley Strikers, 15-8; New Kingston Raiders got past Payne Land, 18-16; UWI Pelicans 'B' crushed Spanish Town Strikers, 43-2; Tantrum gained a walk over Rivoli United 'A'.

UWI Pelicans 'B' defeated Blades United 'B', 33-7; Molynes United 'A' cruised past Payne Land, 25-4; SPEG 'A' defeated Tantrum, 27-5; Molynes United 'B' outscored Blades United 'B', 14-8; Jetsetters 'A' defeated Upper Camp, 24-6.

Alexander strikers got past Greenwich 'A', 20-17; Rivoli United 'B' beat Department of Correctional Services, 18-15; UTECH Knights defeated Department of Correctionals, 18-15; UTECH Knights defeated Department of Correctional Services, 32-7; Greenwich Town 'A' and Hagley Park tied 13-13.

Jetsetters 'A' defeated Top Mountain Flames, 22-12; Alexander Strikers beat Top Mountain, 21-10; Job's Lane United 'A' cruised past Maxfield Park 'A', 24-8; Rivoli United 'B' beat Upper Camp, 14-9; Molynes United 'A' defeated Spanish Town Strikers 'A', 28-12; Tivoli 'B' beat Liguanea United 'B', 20-5.

Spanish Town Strikers 'A' defeated Greenwich Town 'B', 16-2; Molynes United 'A' outscored Pembroke Hall 'A', 16-11; Job's Lane United 'A' beat Pembroke Hall 'A', 21-15; Maxfield Park 'A' got past OMEGA, 13-8; Ebony Strikers 'B' defeated Maverly, 21-5; Hellshire United defeated Edna Manley Strikers, 25-9; Maxfield Park "B' defeated Genesis, 17-9.

SUNDAY'S RESULTS: Red Challenge and Ocho Rios tied 18-18; Raven defeated Drewsland, 29-5; Police 'B' and De La Vega drew 15-15; Mico "B' defeated Duhaney Park, 22-9; Friendship got past Waulgrovians 'C', 16-14; Sports and Games and SKIBO drew 13-13.

Jamaica Defence Force beat EXED Saints, 17-12; SPEG 'B' outscored Ebony Strikers 'A', 23-19; Blades United 'A' defeated Whitfield Town, 35-9; Ocho Rios Magics got past SKIBO, 18-16; Jetsetters 'B' defeated Global United 'B', 29-9; Ebony Strikers 'A' defeated De La Vega, 29-8; SPEG 'B' beat Red Challenge, 23-12.

Waulgrovians "B' trounced Progressive Strikers, 41-0; Police 'B' beat Sports and Games, 18-12; Job's Lane United 'B' defeated Molynes United 'C', 20-9; Jetsetters 'B' beat Whitfield Town, 18-13; Blades United 'A' got the better of Waulgrovians 'B', 26-23; Hampshire outscored Hannah Town, 20-14.

Leiba Gardens got past Unity Strikers, 18-16; Alpha crushed Southborough, 36-4; G.C. Foster Strikers 'B' beat Liguanea United 'A', 23-16; Molynes United 'C' got past Global United 'B', 10-8; Job's Lane United 'B' beat Progressive Strikers, 13-5.
