U-20s, MBU in KSAFA Champions League clash

THE first major football title for the season will be on offer when guest teams Jamaica U-20 and Premier League campaigners Montego Bay United square-off in the KSAFA Champions League final at Edward Seaga Oval today, starting at 6:00 pm.

On their way to the final, the Jamaica U-20s had a 2-0 win over Boys' Town, a 1-0 win over defending champions Arnett Gardens, while they suffered a 1-2 loss against Rae Town and a 2-0 defeat to Harbour View in the group stage.

They then had a hard fought 3-2 win over Cavalier FC in the semi-finals.

For Montego Bay United, they started with a 0-0 draw with Cavalier, before spanking Allman/Woodford 5-0 and battling to a 1-1 draw with Waterhouse. They clipped Harbour View 1-0 in the semi-finals.

Montego Bay's striker Brian Brown is the joint leading goalscorer with three goals, along with Mitchly Waul of Cavalier.

In the meantime, both finalists are in preparation mode for their respective competitions, with the Young Reggae Boys gearing for the CFU Qualifiers in November, while Mobay United are fine-tuning for the start of the Red Stripe Premier League season which gets underway in September.

The third-place play-off will see KSAFA teams Cavalier and Harbour View renewing rivalry at 4 o clock.

There will be prizes and surprises on offer for the patrons.
