Vere takes mile relay at Penn

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Vere Technical Friday held off rivals Edwin Allen and Holmwood Technical to claim their 11th girls’ mile relay title at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, USA.

Vere’s quartet of Olivia James, Andrenette Knight, Derri-Ann Hill and Yanique McNeil ran 3:36:72 seconds to post the fifth fastest time ever done in the event at the meet.

Edwin Allen was second in 3:37:55 ahead of Holmwood who did 3:38:09.

Two other Jamaican schools, St Jago and St Elizabeth Technical, finished fifth and eight respectively.
