Visa awards lucky clients with London trip

MARJORIE Duncan and Althea Dennis will be joining thousands of fans cheering on the world’s best athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games as the winners of a contest offered by Visa, a global sponsor of the Olympic Games, to Scotiabank Visa cardholders.

Duncan’s prize is valued at US$19,300 and includes a seven-day trip for two to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The package also includes economy airfare for two; hotel accommodation at the London Hilton Metropole in Paddington District; daily breakfast at the hotel; tickets to prescheduled Olympic events; guided tour of London; transportation to/from events; transportation to and from London airports; pre-paid VISA card; Visa Olympics merchandise and access to Visa hospitality desk.

Second-placed Althea Dennis’ prize is valued at US$10,300. She wins a four-day trip to the Olympic Games, plus economy airfare for two; hotel accommodation; daily breakfast; tickets to Olympic events; guided tour of London; transportation to/from events, transportation to and from London airports, pre-paid VISA card, Visa Olympics merchandise and access to Visa hospitality desk.

Both ladies will be taking their husbands, Steve Duncan and Carlton Dennis, with the Duncans scheduled to depart of July 26 and the Dennis’ on August 3.

Through the contest, Scotiabank encouraged customers in Jamaica to apply for a Visa card issued by Scotiabank. Customers who applied for a Scotiabank AAdvantage Visa by May 31, 2012, qualified for a chance to win a trip to the London 2012 Olympic Games. Also awarded to customers, was a welcome bonus of 6,000 Scotiabank AAdvantage miles when they applied for and activate a new Scotiabank AAdvantage Visa credit card plus double AAdvantage miles until May 31, 2012.

Visa is a worldwide partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which plays an integral role in the Games, having been a committed sponsor for 25 years. Visa is supporting more than 60 athletes from more than 30 countries through the Team Visa programme.
