MONCTON, Canada — Five of the six Jamaicans who competed in this morning's second day of the 13th IAAF World Junior Championships here at the Stadium du Moncton advanced to their second round of their events.

National junior record holder Kemoy Campbell was the only one not to advance after finishing 10th in his heat of the 1,500m in 3 minutes 47.47 seconds, as he ended his junior career.

Defending men's 100m champion Dexter Lee and Bernado Brady both advanced in the men's 100m; Janieve Russell and Jody-An Muir also advanced from the women's 400m, as did Natoya Goule in the women's 800m.

The meet continues this afternoon with competition in the women's 100m hurdles first round where Jamaica will have Danielle Williams and Tonique Sobah.

The men's 400m first round will see the Vere Technical duo of Demar Murray and Jermaine Gayle; CAC Junior Under-20 100m gold medallist Seidatha Palmer and Deandra Whithorne will run the women's 100m, while Kamal Fuller will line up in the long jump and national junior record holder Candicea Bernard will take her place in the women¹s discus line up.
