SEVERAL Jamaican athletes will put the final touches on their Olympic preparations when they compete at the 10th Samsung Diamond League meet in Monaco today.
Reigning 400m hurdles champion Melaine Walker will face some of her toughest competition this year as she races the world champion, American Lashinda Demus, and rising Czech star, Zuzana Hejnova, for both fitness and the win.
Kerron Stewart will also find the going tough as she faces American Tiana Madison and Blessing Okagbare, who defeated Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Carmelita Jeter last week in the 100m.
Andrew Riley, who is going to his first Olympic Games, will start in the 110m hurdles alongside the dominant Americans, world champion Jason Richardson and world leader Aries Merritt.
Nickel Ashmeade and Marvin Anderson will run the 200m, facing Wallace Spearmon of the US and the Netherlands’ Churundy Martina. Neither athlete made the Olympic team.
