Weir leads with 20.48 into 200m semis

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Olympic bronze medallist Warren Weir leads competitors into the 200m semi finals with the fastest time at Saturday morning’s leg of the National Trials in Kingston.
Weir clocked an easy 20.48 seconds in Heat 2.

Heat one had Nickel Ashmeade trotting 21.46 to win over Ramon McKenzie.

Jason Young won Heat 3 with 21.09 with Kevean Smith second.

In Heat 4 veteran Mario Forsythe won in 20.70 over Tafaree Johnson while Richard Dywer won Heat 5 in 20.98 over Turks and Caicos Island’s Delano Williams (21.08).
Heat 6 was taken by Jermaine Brown (20.65) over Ainsley Waugh (20.78).

The semi finals start at about 8:30 pm.
